About me

I'm a retired High School teacher from Hernando County. My wife is also a retired educator from Hernando County, who taught Special Needs students for 33 years. I began playing Santa for her classroom some years ago and decided to continue my portrayal of Santa for both schools and the public 5 years ago. I regularly appear at Deltona Elementary School in Spring Hill, I am the primary Santa for the Spring Hill Moose Lodge and last year attended Spring Hill Elementary for the first time. I have been making home visitations for several years and last year I portrayed Santa at the Hernando County Courthouse on Christmas Eve, for those who were unable to get pictures with Santa due to their busy schedules.

My Christmas spirit

Christmas has been my favorite Holiday for as long as I can remember. I first put on the Jolly Red Suit, some 50 plus years ago and love bringing Christmas spirit to young and old. Many years ago, my wife and I also had the best decorated house in Brooksville for Christmas!

Bringing joy to kids

Whenever I enter a pre-school special needs classroom, the apprehension runs high. Will the children accept me, or be fearful. I have been so fortunate, to be accepted each and every time with excitement and joy. Last year at Spring Hill Elementary School, while I was headed both to and from the cafeteria where we were to be taking pictures, the children flocked to me. What joy they brought to me, while I too was bringing the Christmas spirit to all of them.

Brooksville santa difference

Portraying Santa is not a business for me. I so enjoy bringing the gift of Christmas Magic to those young and old. I always make time to recognize and spend a little time with anyone I encounter on my trips to engagements, whether it be in a parking lot or in a store. I try to take the time to listen to those special requests and also personalize responses in my return letters to those that write a letter to Santa.
